Outreach Ministries
Outreach Ministry
The St. Luke's family, corporately and individually, recognizes its call to witness in the community at large.
St. Luke's contributes weekly to the St. Stephen's Food Pantry and provides financial support to the local Salvation Army. In addition, our adults and youth repeatedly offer to ring the bells for The Salvation Army during the Christmas season. In addition, some of our members are involved in the American Red Cross, Meal on Wheels, and other community outreach programs.
Several of our members provide prayer services for The Lakes Retirement Senior Community (Meriter) and to Ecumenical Housing Corporation (EHC, ehich provides affordable senior housing on the east side of Madison).
St. Luke's is well known for its "Lotsa Loot" affordable garage sale which provides excellent pricing for lower income families to purchase much needed items Every August, people stand in line to shop at the "Lotsa Loot" sale.
St. Luke's routinely offers people in immediate need through a one time offering of rent/food assistance. In addition, we offer a Prayer Chain utilized by anyone in need of prayers. We recently began a Prayer Shawl ministry in which prayer shawls are made for people with chronic condition. Each shawl is made while praying directly for the person in need of prayers.
